Meet Dr. Daniel George

Daniel C. George, DDS, MS

As an orthodontist, I get to work all day with people of all ages who desire to improve their bites, crooked teeth, facial balance, and smiles, and for over 37 years, I have been excited to go to the office every single day. Every patient’s needs and goals are different, leading to days filled with the intellectual challenges of problem solving and time spent working with wonderful, interesting people. I love taking great care of my patients and improving their dentitions, their smiles, and their facial profiles.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Bachelor of Science, Biology – Central Michigan University, 1967
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Michigan School of Dentistry, 1970
  • United States Air Force Dental Corps, 1972
  • Master of Science in Orthodontics – University of Michigan, 1974
  • Orthodontic Residency – University of Michigan, 1974

The practice of orthodontics is constantly changing, and to fulfill my commitment to providing the best care to my patients, I actively continue my education through memberships in numerous professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Association of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, the West Michigan Dental Society, and the Holland-Zeeland Dental Society. I have also earned recognition as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Experience

I have been involved in developing new, cutting-edge technology that has greatly improved the level of successful treatment with more convenience for patients. I have been very fortunate to be able to teach other orthodontists about these new techniques and have lectured throughout the country and internationally on temporary anchorage devices (TADs). In addition, I am involved with the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Research.

In the Office

I feel truly fortunate to work with such an amazing group of people and am privileged to be in practice with my daughter, Dr. Cadie. Our team has worked together for years and shares the same passion for orthodontics that I have. They are motivated individuals who strive to improve the way they deliver care to our patients.

Family and Community

I was born and raised in Chicago, IL, and have lived in Holland, MI, for almost 40 years. My wife, Mary, and I have three grown children, Cadie, Chip, and Morgan, as well as two cats named Lilly and Paris. When I’m not in the office I enjoy many outdoor activities including skiing, boating, playing golf, running, and biking. Watching my grandchildren grow up is one of my favorite hobbies!
Being an active member of my community has always been a priority. I have volunteered with the Luke Society in Honduras to provide much needed dental services and support numerous local groups such as the Hope College summer theatre, Women in Transition, and the Boys and Girls Clubs.
